Spider Vein Treatments in Philadelphia
Spider Vein Removal at Metro Laser
Spider veins are medically referred to as telangiectasias or angioectasias. No one likes these little red and blue mini-veins that can appear near the surface of the skin. Most often they appear on and near the nose, chin, or cheeks as well as in larger areas such as the upper thighs.
The good news is that many of these can be visibly eliminated with modern aesthetic laser devices.
How Does Laser Vein Removal Work?
Modern professional aesthetic laser devices have become nuanced enough to target very specific types of cells and tissues. In the case of vein reduction, a laser is calibrated to precisely target hemoglobin. These lasers can be adapted for use on spider veins, broken capillaries, and vascular lesions. The targeted tissues are heated to a point that they collapse and are absorbed by the immune system.
Treatment is fairly quick – usually several minutes to half hour depending on treatment size. There is usually no need for anesthesia.
What Do Laser Vein Treatments Work On?

What To Expect After Laser Vein Removal?
Laser vein removal is a simple and easy treatment to receive with no down time.
There may be some temporary discoloration of treated veins and some visible bruising in the surrounding areas. There may also be a temporary “scratchy” appearance to the vessels. These should all clear up within the first week.
Treated areas may feel sensitive similar to the feel of a light sunburn. Any redness and swelling typically subsides within a few days.
Your skincare professional at Metro Laser will give you instructions for post-treatment.
