Laser Skin Tightening in Philadelphia
What Is Laser Skin Tightening?
At our Med Spa, we offer laser ski tightening, an FDA approved treatment intended to reduce wrinkles, lines and small areas of looseness, particularly on the face. Laser skin tightening is non-surgical but can be considered minimally invasive. This treatment heats some of your skin’s collagen which causes a contraction and tightening of the surface.
Like other professional skin treatments, laser skin tightening also encourages additional production of collagen which is one of the most important factors for smoother, more youthful skin.
Many prospective patients underestimate how effective non-surgical procedures can be. But in some cases, laser skin tightening can produce results comparable to minor surgical face lifts.
Laser skin tightening is a powerful next-generation cosmetic procedure that can drastically improve and rejuvenate your skin. Laser skin tightening in Philadelphia involves using controlled laser light to penetrate deep into the skin. The laser’s energy causes microscopic wounds that trigger a powerful healing reaction which in turn boosts collagen and elastin production. The result is radically smoother, firmer, and brighter skin.
What Issues Can Laser Tightening Address?
Laser tightening is a highly versatile procedure. It can help improve and treat a wide range of skin concerns, including:
- Acne scars
- Fine lines
- Loss of collagen
- Rough and uneven texture
- Sagging skin
- Some forms of sun and UV light damage
- Some forms of surgical scars
- Wrinkles, including deep crow’s feet and wrinkles around the mouth
What To Expect?
In contrast with laser resurfacing procedures, laser tightening treatments are non-ablative, meaning they don’t remove upper layers of skin. However, as laser skin tightening uses professional grade lasers, your esthetician will apply an anesthetic cream to reduce discomfort.
Your esthetician will systematically apply the laser device over one small section of the treatment area at a time. The laser will pulse as the esthetician moves the applicator in small increments. Typically, you’ll need multiple passes for the best result.
As with most esthetic laser treatments, there is usually a slight stinging or snapping sensation with each laser pulse. However, with the numbing cream, most patients are able to remain comfortable through the process.
Treatment time is typically between 30 and 60 minutes. There may be a feeling of warmth left in the skin for several hours after treatment. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine immediately after the session.
Is Laser Skin Tightening Safe?
Laser skin tightening is an FDA approved, safe treatment when administered by a professional. There are few, if any side effects for most individuals. The risk to reward ratio of laser skin tightening is significantly better than those of cosmetic surgical procedures.
In very rare cases (less than 1%), some patients may experience pigmentation changes, bruising, or blistering. However, the vast majority experience only minor redness, warmth, and minimal swelling which resolve within days, if not hours.
At Metro Laser, our professionals will ensure that your laser treatments are well suited to your skin type and personal situation and is appropriate for great results with little to no risk.
Can I Go Back To Work After My Treatment?
Laser skin tightening almost never requires any downtime. Patients can even get their skin tightening treatment done on their lunch break and return to work right afterward! If you’re concerned about visible redness in the treatment area, just a little makeup will be enough to cover it as in most cases, the redness will be mild.
